Hard to eat. The concept of sushi is mouth sized in one bite. It would easier for all the ingredients to be laid out on a plate at this point. I like cut rolls.

  2. Graybeard_Shaving

Ratios are never right. Either too much fish, or too much rice, or too much veg.

  3. Lord_Ewok

I enjoy poke alot but big no to sushi burritos

  4. junglepiehelmet

No thanks. I don’t think it works well (for me). I don’t hate on them but it feels like a forced combo that just doesn’t work. I think if I wanted that much stuff in sushi I’d stick with oshizushi

I love the concept. Put two great foods together.

But the result, you just don’t get the amount of goodness out that you put in.

  6. nearlyb0redtodeath

The only ones I’ve gotten have been at least 80% rice, so the fish taste itself is kinda lost. Not a fan

  7. Imperial_Eggroll

Works fine with poke cut fish. Not so much with nigiri

  8. They’re great to me, a fast and easy way to get some of the sushi flavors on the go.

  9. stilltryingnottoshit

Never had one, they look gross and overwhelming.

Defeats the entire purpose of Sushi. Its a gimmick that for me is just plain stupid.

Looks nasty. Too much of a good thing. Just raw fish and not enough texture.

The ratio of rice to other stuff is never right in them. IMO, the ideal size would be like an uncut roll to keep the ratios right, however I’ve never seen them like that

  13. CassinaOrenda

Off putting. No need to make everything a burrito, an average at best foodstuff

  14. Sooo… a sushi roll that isn’t cut in to bit sized pieces? Not really interested. Looks like nices sushi, tho.

Delicious. Seems like others have had bad experiences though or maybe they are just sushi snobs lol. I don’t see a problem with experimenting with food. Sometimes it works sometimes it really really doesn’t. Some people just hate just because it’s not “authentic”. Also I would barely call this a fusion. The burrito aspect really translates to a longer bigger sushi role for the most part with extra sauces (at least in my experience).

I love the idea but the whole point of sushi is that you can eat it in one bite and get all the flavors at once I feel like with this is would just be one ingredient and a tiny bit of rice

  17. Far_Awayy

I love the idea of sushi burritos but the practical execution doesn’t work for what sushi is supposed to be. I’m one and done with them.

Is that nori or a tortilla? I don’t see tortilla, I see white paper and maybe some nori.

If it’s nori, then it’s just a huge maki sushi roll.

If it’s a flour tortilla, then that doesn’t sound good, i.e., white rice and flour tortilla sounds like overkill.

The fillings do look good, though.

this one in the pic looks old and grey 🤢

  20. argus4ever

What is a Maki roll other than an extremely narrow sushi burrito that’s been cut into bite-size pieces

  21. I totally understand the love for them but they’re not my preference. I prefer a simple nigiri over any other kind of sushi.

  22. phaserlasertaserkat

Sushi is better savored bite by bite.

  23. Eviegarden

I’ve had them before and they’re always way too much. I do like it enough, but they’re usually too big

  24. TDSBritishGirl

I feel sorry for anyone who has never had a KimBob Rex. The best of the best here in LA.

Edit: forgot to add that whatever is in that picture is an abomination.

  25. Natural-Hospital-140

I’ve eaten at least 30 sushirritos in my day. I regret nothing.

  26. NassauTropicBird

Are you kidding me? I’d eat the hell out of that, order another, and rinse and repeat until I look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

All the snobs in this thread, jfc, y’all makin’ me laugh.

Had one in my uni and it was awesome (kumo in france) ! Cheap-ish, fresh and tasty, was nice to have a break from greasy stuff like kebab and tacos !
